The Danube Swabian Association of Philadelphia and Vicinity serves the local community as a center for German culture, sports, education, and social activities. Formed in 1957, primarily by ethnic German immigrants who came to the United States in the aftermath of World War II, the organization continues to honor and uphold its traditions by promoting the language, music, dance, dress, and customs of the Danube Swabian people.

Jackapalooza III

Saturday, August 3, 2024 -- 6:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:00 p.m.)

We invite you to come out to the club and join us for an evening of music, entertainment, fellowship, and family in loving memory of our friend Jack Mattes. Unfortunately, "Jackschie" relinquished his life at the very young age of 56 on March 11, 2016 after battling brain cancer for a couple of years.

All are welcome, and this could also be a great "reunion" for previous club members (soccer players, dance group, German school) to get together for a night of memories and fun. Jackschie was involved in many activities at the club.

Musical entertainment will be provided by some of Jack's former band members including Donauwellen, Black Forest, and Front Page News.

Requested donation is $20.00 (16 and over). Proceeds will be donated in Jack's memory to the Jefferson Brain Cancer Foundation.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The event will take place in the club's outdoor picnic area.

Sunday, August 25, 2024 -- 12:00 p.m.

We invite you to join us for our annual Danube Swabian festival! This all-day German celebration features plenty of food, drink, soccer, folk dancing, and German music. All members and friends are invited to attend. Cost of admission is only $5. Gates open at 12:00 noon.

Guests will enjoy the music of Don Bitterlich and performances by dance groups from the area. There will also be soccer games ongoing throughout the afternoon. Catholic Mass in German will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m.

Come and enjoy a beautiful day of Gemütlichkeit!

Wine Tasting

Saturday, September 28, 2024 -- 4:00 p.m.

Please join us to celebrate our 10th annual Wine Tasting with Victor Ykoruk of Commonwealth Selections!

Join us in our picnic area to sample a variety of wines with lite bite food pairings.

Tickets are $40. Payment can be made by mailing a check to the club (made out to "Danube Swabian Association") or via PayPal or Venmo. Please note that you do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit card via PayPal.

If attending as a group, please make a single reservation for your entire group. Limited seating available.

In the event of rain, tasting may be moved inside.
